LANTERN SURGICAL PROGRAM

Starting January 1, 2026, the Writers' Guild-Industry Health Fund will be partnering with Lantern to provide nationwide access to the high-quality surgery procedures – all at no cost-sharing for covered participants.

Lantern uses a curated network of providers with strong surgical outcomes, and includes a dedicated Care Advocate to assist you with all aspects of your procedure. In addition, if you need to travel over a certain distance for services, travel expenses will be covered for you and eligible family members, up to IRS limits. If you choose to use a Lantern-affiliated provider for covered services, your deductible, coinsurance, and copayment will be reduced to zero.

HINGE HEALTH VIRTUAL PHYSICAL THERAPY PROGRAM

Beginning January 1, 2026, you can get virtual muscle and joint pain support – anywhere in the world – through Hinge Health. Utilizing advanced motion capture technology your progress will be monitored and overseen by a physical therapist-led care team – at no out-of-pocket cost, assuming you are enrolled in Writers’ Guild-Industry Health Fund coverage and meet Hinge clinical review criteria.

COVID VACCINES REMAIN COVERED BY THE HEALTH PLAN

You may have read about the FDA changing their COVID vaccination recommendation. The PWGA follows the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations for vaccines. The ACIP has not modified their COVID vaccine policy.

As a result, the PWGA continues to cover COVID vaccinations as before – nothing has changed.

SUMMARY OF MATERIAL MODIFICATIONS UPDATE

A new Summary of Material Modifications (SMM) has been approved by the Board.

This expands the infertility benefits for pre-surrogacy services.
